Automatic system for Brinell hardness tests from 187.5 to 3000 kg on tubular components such as cylinders of various sizes. The integrated system for tangential milling and the autofocus camera guarantee precision and speed, even in production plants with volumes of up to 60 pieces/hour.
With the precise aim of ensuring tailor-made testing solutions for each specific customer need, Easydur has developed a fully automatic system for hardness testing of tubes, pipes and metal cylinders.
There are, in fact, more and more requests from manufacturers of precision steel and metal tubes, who attach great importance to checking the hardness of their products, considered a direct result of the quality of their work.
The hardness testing of pipes, metal cylinders and other cylindrical components is therefore becoming an increasingly essential part of the quality control procedures of many companies, which need a fast-testing system that does not damage the tested component and guarantees an excellent return on investment.
If you are looking for an accurate and advanced machine to measure the hardness of metal tubes of all diameters, Integral Tubes is the perfect solution for you.
Automatic system for hardness testing on tubes, tubulars and cylinders optimized for testing during the production phase
This innovative hardness testing system, specifically designed to meet the needs of modern companies, is configured as a sophisticated automatic line for in series hardness testing.
Thanks to its automated roller conveyor and its great flexibility, given by the motorised movement of the Z-axis and its large and solid testing surface, Integral Tubes allows hardness tests to be performed on metal cylinders and tubes of various lengths and diameters.
It is therefore a versatile instrument suitable for multiple applications, especially since Easydur also manufactures clamps and clamping solutions for every part.
The hardness test becomes a real production process
A distinctive feature of this tube hardness testing system is the head with integrated milling system, designed by Easydur. This innovative feature allows an entire test cycle to be performed efficiently, ensuring surface preparation by milling to an adjustable depth in as little as 45 seconds.
In this case, Integral Tubes is equipped with a tangential milling system. This means that the slot will not be created through vertical movement of the cutter: the material will be removed while passing, with a circular movement of the cutter. This solution lends itself perfectly to the surface preparation of cylindrical components, whose round shape does not offer large penetration surfaces. In fact, the curvature of the surface can cause the indentation of the ball used for the hardness test not to be properly visible.
Another great advantage of the tangential milling system is that the milling is totally free of sharp edges, which only minimally affect the tested part. It’s the first choice for testing metal cylinders of all types, even those made from the thinnest metal sheet.
With this hardness testing system, it is possible to make better use of the time of an operator dedicated full-time to preparing the surface of each individual tube or metal cylinder. If that is not enough, also consider how difficult it is to manually remove rust, paint or imperfections from a thin metal surface in a consistent and repeatable manner without causing damage: the reduction of time and material waste is guaranteed.
Moreover, the Easydur head has several slots, a feature that ensures the possibility of using a variety of indenters and lenses, for compliance with different test standards and precise and accurate results.
The advantage of having a hardness testing system capable of carrying out different tests according to various standards lies in the fact that, when it comes to testing thin-walled or small-diameter tubes, traditional methods such as the Rockwell or Brinell test may not be ideal, due to the risk of the relatively high loads damaging the surfaces or causing holes in the tube walls: in this case, the Vickers standard becomes a useful solution.
However, thicker-walled tubes often require the use of the Brinell 5/750 or even 10/3000 test standard, which is where the convenience of the multi-slot head comes in.
UniverseED production hardness testing software
The optical measurement of the indentation is made possible by advanced industrial camera technology, while the Easydur proprietary UniverseED software ensures a simple and intuitive working experience.
Complying with Industry 4.0 standards has never been easier, as this system integrates seamlessly with the automation processes of modern production lines.
This automatic hardness tester is the ideal choice for increasing the efficiency and accuracy of quality control. Its ability to handle volumes of up to 60 metal cylinders per hour, with 3 tests for each one, makes it suitable for large-scale work without compromising the quality of the results.
A further advantage offered by this roller conveyor system is precisely the possibility of programming different test cycles in different areas of the same part. This allows Brinell hardness tests to be performed on different areas of the tube or pipe, as well as the top, centre and bottom of metal cylinders, ensuring a complete view of the hardness and strength of the material used.
Choosing an automatic hardness testing system like Integral Tubes really means investing in the quality and efficiency of your production process with an innovative hardness testing system for tubes and pipes.
